Alfreton attacker used brick and small saw in attack on local man

Police are appealing for information after a man was hit over the head with a brick as he walked through Alfreton.

The victim, a 29-year-old man, was walking along Cressy Road in the town when he was approached by a man who hit him with a brick.

The man then got him in a headlock but the victim got free and began walking away.

The offender then returned with a small saw and attempted to hit the victim with it but missed and then walked away.

The victim suffered minor facial injuries as a result of the assault which took place at around 10.30pm on 8th August.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or has any information.
