Twenty bands are set to rock Southwell this weekend when the Alehouse Rock mini music festival hits town.

The festival has been put together by the organisers of The Eternal Youth Club, the popular open-mic session hosted by the Old Coach House on alternate Sunday afternoons.

Neil Jenkins, from the Club, used his contacts in the local music scene to cajole many artists to donate their services for the event.

He said that the co-operation and generosity displayed by local bands and artists has been astounding and heartwarming.

The event will feature live music at both venues from 7.30pm to 11pm on Friday, from 3pm to 11pm on Saturday and on Sunday there will be a ‘special’ session of The Eternal Youth Club culminating in an open-mic session.

Wristbands will be on sale at the venues for a minimum donation of £10, and there will also be bucket collections during the event. See facebook.com/alehouserock.
