The firm is looking for eight “store assistants” for its new store on Oakleaf Close, off Southwell Road West, which is due to open “in the spring”.

And “as a result of the supermarket’s continued growth and popularity”, Aldi is also looking for 10 store assistants at its existing stores on Nottingham Road, Mansfield, as well as Station Road and Mansfield Road, both in Sutton.

Colin Breslin, Aldi Regional Managing Director, said: “Aldi continues to prove very popular among the shoppers of Mansfield. Therefore to meet this demand, we’re looking for fresh talent to become part of the Aldi family.

“If you’re enthusiastic, full of initiative and ready to get stuck in, we’d love to hear from you.”

A store spokesman said: “Hardworking and enthusiastic candidates are being targeted for Aldi’s store assistant positions, to carry out responsibilities such as accurate and efficient till operation, stock management and merchandising.

“Full training will be provided for store assistants over a four-week period and roles are available from 15 to 30 hours a week, with salaries starting at £8.85 per hour, rising to £10.41 per hour, and a realistic prospect of progression.”

No date has been set for the store’s opening, but spring suggests work is progressing well, after just last week a store spokesman said Aldi hoped to open it “early this summer”.
