Accountancy firm takes on new apprentices

Stopford Associates Chartered Accountants, based on Commercial Gate, is one of Mansfield’s leading accountancy practices, having served small-to-medium-sized businesses in Mansfield and the surrounding areas for more than 20 years.

And Stopford aims to recruit a trainee accountant every twoyears to take through their accountancy qualifications.

In 2015, Shaun Newham joined the team after Sharon Hall, from Mansfield’s Queen Elizabeth’s Academy, contacting Stopford, asking if there was an apprenticeship opportunity.

And Shaun has moved through his first year with such promise that the firm has been able to recruit a further trainee accountant, William Bostock, also from Queen Elizabeth’s.
