A main Sutton road has been closed after a collision involving a 79-year-old man.

The collision which involved one car on Priestsic Road resulted in a elderly man being taken to hospital.

Policed were called to the scene at 10am today (Saturday, March 3).

The road will be closed until further notice.

A spokesman from Nottinghamshire Police said: "Officers found a single vehicle which had been involved in a collision with a lamp post.

"A 79-year-old man was taken to hospital.

"The road remains closed at this time and drivers are advised to find an alternative route."
