30-year deal for housing association

Newark and Sherwood District Council has signed a new long-term agreement with its housing management company, Newark and Sherwood Homes.

The housing association will continue to manage and maintain the council’s housing stock of 5,500 properties for the next 30 year.

District council leader Coun Roger Blaney said: “The decision to extend the agreement for 30 years reflects our satisfaction with Newark and Sherwood Homes.”

Ginette Hughes from the housing association added: “The agreement means we can make long-term plans to continue to improve homes and communities for local people.”

The association was set up in 2004.
