The Village: This place was labelled as the biggest nightclub venue in Mansfield during the 1990s.

The Cavern: Part of The Village, this place was renowned as a bit of a ‘grab-a-granny’ joint amongst the younger generations.

Valentino’s: This was THE place to go in the early 90s. The Clumber Street club is now known as illusions.

Lexis: 21 Clumber Street, which was Valentino’s and is now illusions, was also the home to late-night disco Lexis in the mid-to-late 90s.

Brunels: Late-night bar Brunels, on Station Road, was in a building that had been converted from the original railway station in Mansfield. Sadly, the 90s saw the end of this bar - and the building remained unused for many years.

Flanagan’s: This Irish bar was the place to go for decent ale at a cheap price and good music in the upstairs room.

The Woodpecker Inn: This old pub on Woodhouse Road was another hotspot for the people of Mansfield during the 90s. This later became Ma Hubbards.

Harvey’s: This was the place to be if you were into indie or the alternative music scene. Harvey’s was later called the Rock Shop - from rock and metal to live bands, and was the alternative place to be.

Palais de Danse: The early 90s saw people partying at the ‘Palais’, which was converted from a former ballroom, dining area and bingo hall. This later became Coyote Wild and Oi.

Venue 44: From techno to drum and bass - Venue 44 was the place to rave all night long.

Did you go clubbing in any of these places in Mansfield during the 90s? Or did you go elsewhere in Nottinghamshire?
