A taste of Greece in the heart of Mansfield is proving a hit with locals – try this takeaway

Fresko is proving a popular takeaway in Mansfield’s vibrant food scene – and after a successful opening in 2023 is looking forward to welcoming more customers this year.

Angela, who runs Fresko with her brothers-in-law Haris and Ervin, is proud of the way the family business has thrived since opening its doors in August last year.

She believes they are providing exactly what their customers want – fresh ingredients, beautifully prepared and with generous portions.

She said: “Home made food is something we all love, and in Greece that is no different. We are proud that our family business is bringing a taste of our country to Mansfield, and that becoming more and more successful.

“People live Greek food and we love to feed others. It is great the locals have shown us their support.”

Haris and Ervin have a background working in some of the best hotels in historic city of Thessaloniki, by the waters of the Aegean Sea.

That experience has now come to Mansfield and Angela says the attention to detail is vital. “We always use fresh ingredients and prepare them in the best way possible, we alos keep to our traditions with specialities like home-made moussaka and meat skewers – perfect for everything from family meals to a couple’s night in, a quick bite to a proper Greek feast.”

Angela has a number of recommendations, including a Pitta Club – layers of grilled meat, melted cheese and salad between two pitta breads.

She also champions wraps which can be filled with delicious skewers of meat which are freshly grilled to make them as succulent as possible.

If that doesn’t sound enough, try the mixed grill which Angela describes as “great for a meal with family or friends – there is something for everyone”.
