Hucknall initiative set for launch by CCG to form community partnership

C2 is a new ‘not for profit’ scheme which works with residents and service providers to improve the quality of life in neighbourhoods.

The scheme, which is being funded by the Notts Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), will be launched next month in the Broomhill area with a Listening Event.

Residents across the area will be invited to attend in order to have their say on what changes they would like to make to the area and services where they live.

“There will be representatives from the council, housing, police, education and health sectors to listen to people’s opinions and views on what they like and don’t like about their area and hear suggestions on how it can be changed for the better,” said Niki Pekal, who will be leading the C2 initiative.

“It’s about pulling residents, of all ages and from all sections of the community to work together to make a difference.”

The Listening Event is the starting point and it is hoped residents from the young to the elderly will attend and contribute and forge a group to make a change.

“The aim of C2 is to inspire and support local people to reconnect and establish a long term, resident-led partnership with service providers to improve health, well-being and local conditions via the co-creation of a ‘People and Services Partnership’,” explained Niki.

The C2 scheme has been operating in different parts of the country for several years but this initiative in Hucknall is the first one to be set up in the Midlands.

Niki added: “The Hucknall group, once established will be to draw on the esperiences of the other groups and benefit from their successes.
