Honda celebrates million-mile Accord

AMERICAN Honda has awarded Joe LoCicero a brand new 2012 Accord after he hit the one million-mile mark in his 1990 model.

LoCicero drives an average of 62,500 miles a year and began keeping detailed records at around 300,000 miles.

He has taken more than 661 photos of his odometer and Honda fans have been following his journey on as he approached the one million-mile mark.

LoCicero was presented with his new set of keys in a surprise parade in Saco, Maine, on October 23.

The one-block-long celebratory parade included a giant odometer float, marching bands from local schools and theatre stilt walkers.

Honda’s reliability is renowned and has been recognised by publications such as What Car? and Which?

In the 2011 What Car?/Warranty Direct survey, Honda was rated the UK’s most reliable car manufacturer for an unprecedented sixth year in a row.
