Mansfield Town CEO Carolyn Radford moves abroad - and this is why

The 37-year-old businesswoman has swapped her Victorian mansion which she shared with her husband and Mansfield Town FC owner John Radford, for a modern villa in the Algarve.

Speaking in an exclusive interview to Hello magazine, Carolyn said she is hoping the move will help her to spend more time with her three children, Hugo who is six and five-year-old twins Rupert and Albert.

Admitting she had "taken on too much," and that it was time to put her children before work.

She said: "The quality and balance in our lives wasn't right and we were thinking: 'What can we do about this?

"I never had my own kids – I felt obliged to go out to work because there were so many people in the house looking after them, including a live-in nanny. Children grow up so quickly, and we were so busy we were never seeing them. And I'd like to have another baby."

Carolyn become the Stag’s chief executive in 2011, becoming English football’s youngest CEO at the age of 29.

She is also very success in other fields, including being a former senior at Gucci, being a trained lawyer and she is the owner of a beauty salon in Doncaster.

She added: “We are all trying to be superwomen and being everything to everyone – a good friend, a great wife, a loving mother, a good businesswoman,

"None of us is perfect yet we are striving for perfection. You want to leave a legacy in business, but the real legacy is the amount of effort and nurturing you can do for your children, and my boys and my family are the most important thing.”

Not much is know about their new villa, but Carolyn spent five years renovating the ten bedroom mansion near Retford.

The family moved into the mansion in 2011 and it now has an indoor pool, marble floors and a landing pad for John's helicopter.
