FirstBuy makes home cheaper
The latest figures from Halifax show that the average age of the first time buyer in the East Midlands is 27 - but Rippon is hoping to help those who want to get on the ladder earlier on in life by offering a selection of its homes with a new Government-backed scheme.
At The Hawthorns on Eakring Road, the housebuilder has received an allocation of the Government’s FirstBuy funding which was introduced in a bid to make home ownership more affordable.

The remaining 20 per cent is funded by a deferred loan from Rippon and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
Serena Bishop, sales adviser at The Hawthorns and the company’s resident FirstBuy expert, said: “The properties at The Hawthorns represent excellent value for money but with FirstBuy, getting that vital first step on to the property ladder becomes even more affordable.”
