Why this Mansfield bar which brought brewing back to the town won't reopen with other pubs on July 4

A bar which brought the art of brewing back to the world-famous Mansfield Brewery site, has revealed that it will not be opening on July 4 alongside other pubs in the country.

Phil Scotney, managing director of Prior's Well Brewery, which runs and brews beer at the Old Brewery Bar & Café on Littleworth, said they want to be “confident” of their customers safety before reopening.

The government gave pubs the green light to reopen on July fourth, alongside cafes and restaurants.

Mr Scotney, said: “To ensure our customers and staff safety we have decided not to open on the fourth and are reviewing the best practices and procedures we will need to follow.

“As soon as we are confident of everyone’s safety we will announce our “Grand Re-opening”.

“Thank you for your continued support and understanding.”

Mr Scotney added they will carry on deliveries, which you can get through their Facebook page.
