The Little John Inn recently announced that it will be reopening on August 24 under a new management team.

In April, the previous owners announced that it would be closing its doors for good but new owners, Nicky Mayoh and her partner Neil Crain have stepped in to save the popular village venue from permanent closure.

Nicky said: “I’ve been at the Griffins Head for ten years on and off and I just wanted something different and it’s not too far away.

“I can do my own food and more of my own thing so to be able to come here it’s a little bit more relaxed.

“It’s just a lovely pub, we’ll give it a whirl, you’ve got to take a chance in life sometimes.”

Nicky has also thanked the previous owner Louise for being extremely helpful with the reopening.

A new menu will be available serving home-cooked pub food to freshen up customers' palates as well as an early bird menu with smaller portions from 12 until 5 pm.

A pizza oven is another addition at the pub so customers will be able to get their hands on takeaway pizzas and takeaway fish and chips will also be available.

Nicky also has plans to attract a larger customer base by providing more choices for people with food allergies.

She said: “We’re doing our best to make sure we have got the menus in place that are going to be right for the local area.

“90 per cent of my menu can be for dairy, gluten and or any other allergies.

"We work very hard to make sure we can put allergies in place.”

Bookings for the pub are being taken from August 14 and children as well as dogs are welcome.
