'Happy deal' for Mansfield as new McDonald's opens - creating 82 jobs
Fast-food giant McDonald’s has brought a ‘happy deal’ for Mansfield by opening its new drive-thru in the town – creating 82 permanent jobs.
The restaurant at Sherwood Oaks Business Park, on Oak Leaf Close, welcomed its first customers this morning (Wednesday).
Bosses say its opening follows ‘significant investment’ from franchisee Jacqui Moore – who already employs more than 450 people at her five restaurants across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, including the West Gate branch in Mansfield town centre.
For now, the new burger outlet will operate as a takeaway and drive-thru only – with dine-in paused due to Covid-19 restrictions.
“My team and I are excited to be safely opening a brand-new McDonald’s restaurant in Mansfield,” said Jacqui.
"We’re looking forward to seeing our customers enjoy our services on offer, including takeaway and drive-thru.
"We’d also like to thank our customers in advance for their support and patience as we navigate and adapt to new, evolving restrictions and different ways of working.”
The restaurant also boasts two electric vehicle rapid chargers for customers.
Installed by InstaVolt, the points are capable of charging at 125kW delivering an 80 per cent charge in less than 20 minutes.
Smart Digital drive-thru menu boards are in operation and self-service kiosks available for takeaway customers.
The My McDonald’s App will let customers order and pay for their meal contact-free ahead of time.
When Dine-In reopens, customers can order a meal at the counter or have it delivered to a table.
The restaurant will also introduce its Table Markers scheme allowing customers find a table, order through their phone and have food delivered straight to their seat.
