The Meadowhall shops that will stay shut on Boxing Day this year
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Marks and Spencer, The Entertainer, Poundland, TSB, Nationwide and HSBC, which all have branches inside the Sheffield shopping centre will not be open on December 26 and are instead opting to give workers a day off after a difficult year of serving customers throughout the coronavirus crisis.
It comes as retailers, Asda and Pets at Home also said they would take the decision to be shut on Boxing Day this year as a thank you to employees for their work during the ongoing pandemic.

Hide AdOther supermarket chains such as Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s have defied the move and insisted they will keep stores open, alongside Meadowhall which is opening to customers from 9am till 8pm on December 26.
The Star has received a report that some of the shopping centre’s employees are unhappy about the decision to keep Meadowhall open on Boxing Day and which they say is ‘forcing hard working staff’ to miss out on time with their family at Christmas.
Meadowhall, which is closed on Christmas Day, is also open from 11am to 5pm on December 27 and 9am to 9pm on Boxing Day Bank Holiday.
HSBC, Lloyds and TSB branches will be closed nationally from December 25 and re-opening to the public on Tuesday, December 29.

Hide AdWhile Poundland, which gave staff an extra week of holiday this year, announced they would be giving workers the day off on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day back in April.
