MG to lend 100 free cars to good causes during lockdown: here's how to nominate one

MG Motor is to lend 100 electric cars to good causes for free to help keep staff mobile during the current lockdown.

The car maker made its vehicles available to the NHS and partner agencies during the first nationwide lockdown and has now extended the offer to help charities, healthcare organisations and other local support agencies around the country.

The MG ZS electric SUVs will be offered free-of-charge to local causes identified by MG’s network of 120 dealers, with deliveries beginning at the end of January.

Members of the public are being encouraged to nominate suitable causes which would benefit from the scheme. To do so, visit mg.co.uk to find your nearest dealer and contact them with details of the organisation.

MG Motor’s sales director, Guy Pigounakis, said: “Our dealers achieved some terrific things within their local communities in 2020 and were delighted to help support the NHS and its partners through times of crisis.

“This time, we’re extending the initiative to allow our network the opportunity to support other essential causes in their communities that might be struggling with transport, such as foodbanks, healthcare transport schemes and local charities that provide vital services within the community.”

During the first lockdown Land Rover extended a similar offer, providing 57 vehicles including the new Defender to frontline services around the country.
