Ten fantastic memories of Clipstone Lido

We are taking a trip down memory lane to Clipstone Lido with this fantastic photo gallery from the 60s right through until the 80s.

The lido was built on the site of former tennis courts by female volunteers in 1963 and opened a year later

It had a variety of pools to suit all levels of swimming abilities, including one for diving and a smaller pool for younger children, and was extremely popular until its closure in August 1984.

Entrance was subsidised by Clipstone Colliery Miners’ Welfare and boasted facilities such as a hothouse, cafe, changing rooms and first aid room.

Take a look through our galley to see if you can spot anyone you know.
