Sutton man takes on the 2026 London Marathon challenge for Children with Cancer UK

Lee Roberts from Sutton in Ashfield is running the TCS London Marathon in aid of Children with Cancer UK, the leading children’s cancer charity in the UK, on Sunday, 26th April.
This is Lee's 8th London marathon in as many years raising over £35,000 for Children with Cancer charities.
Lee was inspired to run his first London Marathon in 2019 after his cousin, Jessica, who in 2016 and five-years-old at the time was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma.
Jessica is now fighting fit and as Lee says "One of the lucky one" he has seen how these charities help the children and families get through the tough times, help and support them.

In Lee's 50th year he is planning on not only running his 8th London Marathon, but also take on the Race for life, The Big Hike, Tough Mudder and the Great North Run, all before his 50th celebration in September.
Every day in the UK, 10 families are given the devastating news that their child has cancer. Children with Cancer UK funds research into the causes of childhood cancers and the development of kinder, less toxic treatments. They support young people and their families through treatment and beyond. Their vision is a world where every child and young person survives cancer.
Lee said: “Childhood cancer is a cause close to my heart and that’s why I wanted to take on this challenge. I hope everyone can get behind me and all the charity runners on the day and support us.”
The TCS London Marathon is the biggest annual fundraising event for Children with Cancer UK and this year the charity is hoping to raise £3 million. Every pound raised will help to fund ground-breaking scientific research into the treatment and causes of childhood cancer and provide crucial ongoing support for young cancer patients and their loved ones.
