After covid guidelines from the NHS were relaxed, pregnant women who have appointments at Sherwood Forest Hospitals will be allowed to take their birth partners in the early pregnancy unit and antenatal clinic, but the new rules will not come into effect until Monday.

A spokesperson for Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: "At Sherwood Forest Hospitals, from Monday, December 21, pregnant women will be able to be accompanied by their birth partner for all appointments in the early pregnancy unit and in the antenatal clinic.

“If you have an appointment before then, please do not bring your birth partner unless you are attending for a scan in our early pregnancy unit or a dating or 20 week scan.

"This is to keep you, our colleagues and other patients safe whilst we make changes to allow us to support the new policy.”
