Mansfield Woodhouse care provider now rated 'good' by Government watchdog
A care provider in Mansfield Woodhouse that was previously graded as ‘requires improvement’ has now been rated ‘good’ following its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Jigsaw Homecare Ltd, based at the Gateaway Centre on Signal Way, is a domiciliary care service providing support to people of any age including those living with dementia living in their own homes.

At the time of the assessment, the service was supporting 33 people with their personal care needs.
The provider was rated as ‘requires improvement’ when it was last inspected in 2022 but inspectors have seen positive change since then.
CQC inspectors assessed the care provision under ‘right support, right care, right culture’.
In their report, inspectors said: “People received safe care from a small team of consistent staff members who knew them well.
"Where people were supported with medicines, this was done safely and records, such as medicine administration records, accurately reflected the support people received.
"Care plans were person centred and detailed how people wished to be supported.
"Where people needed support with specific conditions and/or equipment, care plans contained clear guidance for staff on how to support people and actions to be taken in the event of an emergency.
"Practical training such as medicines and manual handing were done in house by qualified staff members enabling the provider to refresh this training as needed
"This included when new risks had been identified or when people needed new equipment.
"This ensured people received safe and effective care consistently.
“While audits and quality monitoring processes implemented by the registered manager were limited, care was found to be provided safely and inline with people’s wishes and we saw evidence of feedback being acted on quickly and effectively.
"This included sharing lessons learned with staff where needed.
“People and their relatives consistently told us they received safe care from staff.
"People praised the kindness and compassion of the staff who visited their homes and commented on how accessible their care information was through an online app which also displayed information on which staff would be attending their home.
“People were regularly asked for their feedback as part of ongoing care plan reviews as well as through methods such as annual questionnaires.
"Most people we spoke with said the provider was easy to contact and they were able to raise concerns and give feedback as needed.
"Where people had done this, they told us they had received a response from the management team to their satisfaction.”
Jayne Wagstaff, registered manager, said: “The actual assessment was based on the two areas we needed improvement on, so this was a progess assessment and we’re now good on them and good overall.
"For five years, post-Covid, everyone in this industry has really struggled and when you’ve been left with a poor rating, through Covid and past Covid and left alone with no contact from the CQC, it has damaged the business.
"So we’ve been waiting for this for a long time and now, hopefully, we can increase our business.”
