Mansfield loses another patient to Covid-19

The figures, released daily as part of the government’s daily briefing, show that the Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust recorded the death of another patient who tested positive for the virus on December 11.

It brings the number of coronavirus-related fatalities in the area to a total of 231, almost nine months since the pandemic hit.

Nationwide a further 159 people who tested positive for the coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 44,285.

Patients were aged between 47 and 97 years old, said NHS England. All except five of those patients, who were aged 55 to 89 years old, had known underlying health conditions.

The date of the deatsh ranges from November 8 to December 12.

Their families have been informed.
