Residents at Berry Hill Park Care Home, on Berry Hill Lane, were invited to learn about saris – and even try them on – as well as sample some Indian food at the home’s sari and samosa day.

Kristina King, home wellbeing co-ordinator, said: “It was about celebrating diversity and different cultures.

“We had a couple of members of staff who started with us recently and they brought in some saris from home and the residents enjoyed it, so we thought we would make an event out of it.”

As well as trying on saris, residents heard from staff members all about the traditional Indian dress, including the types and material used.

Miss King said: “We also had different foods for residents to try.

“They loved it.”
