Latest coronavirus death figures in Mansfield

No new coronavirus deaths have been reported from hospitals in Mansfield for more than three days in a row, according to the latest NHS figures.

So far a total of 124 patients who tested positive for the deadly bug have died under the care of Sherwood Forest Hospitals, which runs Kings Mill Hospital, Mansfield Community Hospital and Newark Hospital.

England reported 19 new deaths over the past day, bringing the coronavirus death toll across the country to 28,672- although the figures could be higher as they do not include deaths within care homes or the community.

This week, executive mayor of Mansfield Andy Abrahams praised Mansfield residents for helping to control the virus.

"Mansfield people have been really responsible in the way they have adhered to government guidance to curb the spread of the virus,” he said.

“This district has one of the lowest rates of infection in the county.”
