There have been suggestions that access could be granted on an appointment system with slots booked online to help prevent potential overcrowding or large numbers turning up on the first day they reopen.

“They are letting the borough and district councils pick up the bill for fly-tipping.

“We’ll be asking them to pay for subsequent clean ups until they reopen our tips.

“In Ashfield we are very proud to be the only council in the whole county to continue to provide full bin collection services.

“That’s why incidents of fly-tipping have gone down.

“Other places in the county like Bassetlaw, Mansfield and Newark & Sherwood have seen a dramatic rise in fly-tipping.

“It’s time to re-open our tips.”

“We will of course keep residents up to date with our plans.
