Two more patients die from Covid-19 in Mansfield hospitals as vaccine roll out is underway

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which operates Mansfield Community Hospital, Newark Hospital and King’s Mill Hospital in Sutton, verified that two more patients had passed away from Covid-19 in the latest reporting period.

The data from NHS England released this afternoon (Wednesday, December 9) brings the trust’s death toll from coronavirus up to 223 so far this year.

It comes after Ann Allen, 81, from Sutton, was the first person to receive the vaccine in North Nottinghamshire at King’s Mill Hospital yesterday (Tuesday, December 8).

A further 344 people, who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 43,248.

Patients who lost their lives after contracting the virus were aged between 16 and 100 years old.
