A total of 116 people have now been confirmed as dying at the trust after testing positive for COVID-19, as of 5pm on Sunday, May 24.

England recorded its lowest number of daily fatalities since the lockdown began on March 23, with another 59 patients dying with the disease at hospitals, taking the total death toll to 25,751.

The number of deaths recorded after the weekend is typically lower and NHS England said the Covid Patient Notification System was not working between 4.55am and 3pm yesterday due to connectivity issues.

It said the system was now fully operational and reports of any deaths which could not be entered yesterday would be uploaded.
