Two more Covid-19 patients die at Sherwood Forest Hospitals

Another two coronavirus patients have died at Sherwood Forest Hospitals, the latest data published by NHS England this afternoon shows.

Today’s figures (Tuesday, December 15) reveal that two additional people have died with coronavirus while being cared for by Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

A total of 236 of the trust’s patients, from King’s Mill Hospital, Newark Hospital and Mansfield Community Hospital, have now died after testing positive for Covid-19 since the pandemic first hit.

Across England, another 293 people have died with the virus while in hospital, increasing the amount of confirmed reported deaths in the country’s hospitals to 44,757.

Out of these fatalities, a total of 63 occurred at hospitals in the Midlands.

The patients, who died between October 31 and December 14 but whose deaths were only announced today, were aged between 38 and 98 and all but eight of them had known underlying health conditions.
