Three more Covid-19 patients die in Mansfield

The death figure in Mansfield continues to rise as three more patients have succumbed to the deadly virus, it has been revealed.

Most recent data released this afternoon (December 6) from NHS England indicated that the three patients died while being cared for by Sherwood Hospital NHS Trust.

The latest figure brings a total of 218 virus-related fatalities within the trust, which runs Newark Hospital, Mansfield Community Hospital and King’s Mill Hospital in Sutton since the pandemic hit.

On Saturday (December 5), a Covid-19 patient lost their life to coronavirus and on Friday (November 4), one more death was recorded within the hospitals.

Meanwhile, a further 195 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital in England, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths reported in hospitals to 42,389.

Patients were aged between 27 and 100. All except two, aged between 84 and 90, had known underlying health conditions.

The deaths were between October 30 and December 5.
