The infection rate is falling in a number of places within the Mansfield and Ashfield area, however in others it continues to rise.
The leader of Ashfield council criticised the Government’s ‘defeatist’ attitude in locking the area down in Tier 3.
Yesterday Health Secretary Matt Hancock explained how mass community testing would work, and the Government has already started to purchase vaccines in an effort to start getting the most vulnerable people inoculated before Christmas.
These are the areas in Mansfield and Ashfield where the infection rate is currently the highest.
