The latest infection rate in Mansfield and Ashfield as case numbers continue to fall

The Covid-19 infection rate has fallen in both Mansfield and Ashfield, with fewer new cases reported according to the latest NHS data.

In Mansfield the infection rate now stands at 331.2 new cases per 100,000 people. This amounts to 362 new cases in the week to November 13 – the latest week for which NHS figures are available.

Data for the most recent four days (November 14-17) has been excluded as it is incomplete and does not reflect the true number of cases.

In the week to November 6, the infection rate was 380.6 new cases per 100,000 people, which meant there were 416 confirmed new cases in the town.

A majority of areas in England (232 out of 315) have seen a rise in case rates.

But Ashfield also saw its infection rate fall in the most recent week on record. The rate there now stands at 301.0, meaning 385 new cases were confirmed in the week to November 13.

In the week to November 6 the infection rate in Ashfield was 307.2 per 100,000 people, with 393 new cases reported.

Hull continues to have the highest rate in England, with 1,976 new cases recorded in the seven days to November 13 – the equivalent of 760.6 cases per 100,000 people.

This is up slightly on 731.8 cases per 100,000 in the seven days to November 6.

Hartlepool has the second highest rate, up sharply from 407.8 to 596.8, with 559 new cases.
