All nine councils for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire will move together into the toughest Tier 3 restrictions, following discussions between Government and council leaders. The ‘Very High’ alert measures come into force at one minute past midnight on Friday, October 20.

Following the announcement on Wednesday that the whole of the county was now moving into the ‘Very High’ Covid 19 Tier 3 rules, Sherwood Forest Hospitals, Chief Executive Richard Mitchell said: “The numbers of patients with Covid-19 are increasing in our hospitals and we are moving towards similar levels to March and April this year.

“We know Nottinghamshire has gone into Tier 3 and we would ask people to follow the latest government guidelines for their area, to socially distance, to keep two metres apart whenever possible, to wash their hands regularly and to wear a face mask to cover their nose and mouth.
