Council leader Jason Zadrozny said: “Following the confirmation of 16 Covid-19 cases at the Summit Park site Sutton, Ashfield District Council are working closely with Director of Public Health for Nottinghamshire and all parties involved to ensure that the spread of the virus is contained.
"This is a developing situation, and our Environmental Health Team have visited the site this morning and are working with the contractors on site and the Health & Safety Executive to ensure that all protocols are being strictly followed.
“There are 700 contractors on site daily, and although the Summit Park site is important for the local economy, it is important that government guidance is strictly followed to stop further cases. Ashfield District Council will continue to work closely with Public Health and the contractors to maintain the safety of workers on the site.”
