One more Covid patient in Sherwood hospitals dies

According to the most recent data released this afternoon (December 27) from NHS England, the death toll across the Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust now stands at 267.

This comes the day after no new deaths were reported on Boxing Day.

The trust runs Newark Hospital, Mansfield Community Hospital and King's Mill Hospital in Sutton.

A further 231 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 48,542.

Patients were aged between 30 and 103 years old. All except five (aged 36 to 85 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 9 December to 26 December 2020 with the majority being on or after 24 December.

Their families have been informed.
