Number of Covid patients at Sherwood Forest Hospitals falls by more than 50 per cent in a month

The trust which runs Sutton’s King’s Mill Hospital was caring for 17 coronavirus patients as of Tuesday, figures show.

NHS England data shows the number of people being treated in hospital for Covid-19 by 8am on April 20 was up from 16 on the same day the previous week.

The number of beds at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust occupied by people who tested positive for Covid-19 decreased by 54 per cent in the last four weeks – 28 days ago there were 37.

Across England there were 1,649 people in hospital with Covid as of April 20, with 273 of them in mechanical ventilation beds.

The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalised nationally has decreased by 61 per cent in the last four weeks, while the number on mechanical ventilators has decreased by 58 per cent.

Figures also show 10 new Covid patients were admitted to the trust’s hospitals in the week to April 18 – up from five in the previous seven days.
