Nottinghamshire man raises over £400 for NHS charities by shaving beard

A Sutton-in-Ashfield man has helped to raise hundreds of pounds of NHS charities by shaving his beloved beard and hair.

The coronavirus has claimed many lives including NHS workers battling the virus on the front line. Having followed the devastation being caused by the virus, Ryan aged 31, from Sutton-in-Ashfielddecided to help the NHS any way he could.

Ryan said: “As a part-time photographer, I have built quite an audience on Instagram which I used to my advantage in order to appeal to as many people as possible to try and raise money.

“I came up with the idea to part ways with my beloved beard for £150 if people agreed to donate. Thankfully it worked, then I told people the hair on my head would soon follow if the people agreed to double the total raised.

“The response was amazing, people very quickly doubled the total taking it to above £400. That said, it all came off.”
