Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue suspends clothing collections from outside stations until further notice

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue is asking people not to leave donated clothing outside its stations due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The service usually takes in collections of used clothing to raise money for the Firefighters Charity at stations around the county, including Mansfield, Ashfield and Worksop, but has been forced to postpone collections until further notice.

In a statement issued on social media, the service said: “Due to the current situation collections for the clothing banks outside Fire Stations are currently postponed.

Please can we ask you to not leave clothing outside of the clothing banks for the Fire Fighters Charity.”

The charity works with current and former firefighters from around the UK to offer help and support for those with mental and physicl health problems, as well as those needing assistance with social wellbeing.
