New Covid-19 cases in Mansfield's worst-hit areas as Tier 2 lockdown comes into force today

Most recent data from Public Health England shows the number of new Covid-19 cases in Mansfield’s worst-hit areas as new ‘high’ level restrictions come into effect today.

The number of new infections has fallen slightly in the some of the worst-hit Mansfield neighbourhoods, according to new figures from October 3 to October 9.

While hotspot King's Walk, Berry Hill and Oakham previously had 20 new Covid-19 cases from October 2 to October 8, the area recorded 18 infections in the seven days up to October 9.

There was also a decline in the number of new cases in Mansfield Woodhouse, with 12 more infections from October 3 to October 9, compared to 13 previously.

However nearby in Edwinstowe and Clipstone, the area documented 21 new positive tests for the virus in the seven days up to October 9.

Results are gathered using pillar one and pillar two of the Government’s coronavirus testing programme, which were reported to labs by October 11.
