More deaths confirmed in Nottinghamshire as UK announces another 873 coronavirus victims

Three more people at Sherwood Forest Hospitals have died after testing positive for COVID-19, latest NHS figures show.

This brings the number of deaths at the trust to 74, with 868 cases confirmed.

Sherwood Forest Hospitals runs King’s Mill Hospital, in Sutton, and Mansfield Community Hospital.

Patients were aged between 22 and 103 years old. 24 of the 778 patients (aged between 49 and 91 years old) had no known underlying health condition.

Across England a further 778 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 15,607.

In the UK the number of deaths stands at 16,509 as of today (April 21).

The death toll for England and the UK is expected to be much higher than official figures as deaths in care homes and elsewhere in the community are not included in the daily updates.
