Mansfield's Covid infection rate rose by more than half after Christmas relaxation

The town’s infection rate jumped to 391 per 100,000 people in the week ending 31 December from 253 in the previous seven days.

During this time, 427 people in Mansfield tested positive for the illness, up from 277 the week before.

Still, the infection rate was smaller than the national average for this period of 453.
