Glen Watson who delivers the mail in Mansfield Woodhouse is wearing a different fancy dress outfit everyday to bring a bit of cheer to the people on his round who are fed up by the coronavirus lockdown.

Yesterday (Tuesday) he was spotted on his round in the Worcester Avenue and Cox’s Lane area dressed in Pro-Wrestling gear as his alter ego ‘Postie Malone.’

Thirty-six-year-old Glen, originally from the Warsop, Mansfield Woodhouse area, but who now lives in Clowne, said he was “sick and tired of all the doom and gloom” of the recent months.

“I just wanted to see the people of Mansfield Woodhouse smile again,” said Glen, who is a dad to 10-month old daughter Imogen with partner Victoria.

“I decided to wear fancy dress to work each day and to try and raise some money for the National Emergencies Trust, and I just wanted help spread some happiness.”

“I thought I need to do something to cheer people up, and it has worked! I have had people clapping me, little kids waving out of their windows and looking for me, people walking their dogs bursting out laughing and smiling. It’s been brilliant.”

So far, through a Justgiving page, Glen has already raised £350 through donations but is appealing for more. He is also asking for costume ideas, he is open to requests, and happy to received donated costumes.

People have already started dropping costumes off on my doorstep!” he added.
