Mansfield records two more Covid-19 deaths

The coronavirus death toll in Mansfield continues to rise as two more patients have died from the deadly virus within the hospitals, latest figures have shown.

According to the most recent data released this afternoon (December 25) from NHS England, the patients died while being cared for by Sherwood Hospitals NHS Trust.

The trust, which runs Newark Hospital, Mansfield Community Hospital and King's Mill Hospital in Sutton has recorded a total of 266 virus-related facilities since the pandemic hit.

Nationwide, a further 401 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital in England, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths reported in hospitals to 48,150, NHS England said on Friday.

Patients were aged between 48 and 105. All except 14, aged between 54 and 93, had known underlying health conditions.The deaths were between November 16 and December 24.
