Mansfield farmer donates bags of spuds to help those in need

Alex Marshall from a farm in Papplewick, south of Mansfield, donated 20 bags of potatoes to help those who currently require help as a result of the Coronavirus crisis.

Mr Marshall put together the 12.5kg bags which were then picked up by the Nottinghamshire Police Neighbourhood Support Unit.

The produce has been delivered to various foodbanks in Ashfield, Bulwell, Bestwood as well as a care home in Gedling.

Operational Support Demand Management Inspector Tim Ringer said: "It's great that people are wanting to do their bit wherever they can, and we as a police force, will continue to do certain tasks, which might be slightly out of the ordinary, to ensure that people are not going without and that people are safe."
