Mansfield coronavirus death toll remains static for more than one week

No further deaths have been recorded at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs King’s Mill Hospital in Sutton, Mansfield Community Hospital and Newark Hospital, for more than one week.

According to figures from NHS England today (Thursday July 2), the total number of deaths at the trust remains at 124.

Nationally, a further 38 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,832.

The patients were aged between 33 and 96 years old. Two patients, aged 50 and 69, had no known underlying health conditions.

As of Thursday, the coronavirus death toll in the UK had reached 43,995 after 89 more deaths in the UK. Pubs, bars and restaurants in England are set to reopen at 6am on Saturday after being closed for more than three months. Hairdressers will also be allowed to reopen.
