Mansfield coronavirus death toll increases after another patient dies in hospital

The Covid-19 death toll has increased again at hospitals across Mansfield after another patient lost their life to the deadly virus.

Most recent data released this afternoon (Friday, December 4) from NHS England revealed that one additional person died from coronavirus while being cared for by Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust.

The trust which runs Newark Hospital, Mansfield Community Hospital and King’s Mill Hospital in Sutton has a total of 214 virus-related fatalities since the pandemic first hit.

It comes after four more patients were confirmed to have died within hospitals across Mansfield yesterday (Thursday, December 3).

A further 274 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England up to 41,879.

Patients were aged between 15 and 98 years old and all except seven had known underlying health conditions.

The dates of fatalities range from March 26 to December 3, with the majority being on or after November 23.
