The coronavirus infection rate in Mansfield has nearly doubled in the last week.

There were 203 cases of Covid-19 confirmed in the seven days to October 15, the latest figures from Public Health England show, giving a weekly infection rate of 185.7 new cases per 100,000 people.

That’s up from 95.1 cases per 100,000 people during the previous week.

Mansfield is a ‘high’ coronavirus alert area under Tier 2 of the Government’s three-tier lockdown system, meaning that different households are banned from mixing indoors.

Some parts of Mansfield have been worse affected than others, with the number of cases in different neighbourhoods during the latest week ranging from six to 34.
