Boris Johnson has said local infection rates will be one of the main criteria used to determine which areas enter which of tier of restrictions once the national lockdown ends next Wednesday, December 2.

The number of older people testing positive, the pressure on the NHS locally and the rate at which cases are rising or falling will also be considered.

The latest figures show that Hull now has the highest weekly infection rate, with 568.6 new cases recorded there per 100,000 people.
