The testing hub has been operating since 2 June in Meadowhall’s overspill car park on Weedon Street with around 80 staff on site from 8am until 8pm to help people with symptoms get a test.
While the majority of people test themselves, there are also trained testing staff wearing full PPE on site who can test people who aren’t comfortable doing it themselves. It can take as little as five minutes to get tested.
These pictures show how the process works from start to finish.
. Scan QR code on arrival
Visitors will receive a QR code when they book their appointment slot online. This will be scanned at the first station before people are asked if they are OK to do the test themselves. You can also book a test by calling 119, not 101. Photo: Brian Eyre
. Keep your windows down
Visitors must keep their windows down at all times, unless collecting or returning the test kit, to avoid germs spreading. Photo: Brian Eyre
