Further 3 patients die from coronavirus within Mansfield hospitals

The latest data from NHS England today has confirmed a further three patients have died from coronavirus within Mansfield’s hospitals.

Figures released this afternoon (Saturday, December 12) reveal that Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s Covid-19 death toll has increased by three, after more patients lose their lives to the virus.

The death toll at the trust, which operates Mansfield Community Hospital, Newark Hospital and King’s Mill Hospital in Sutton, has risen to 230 since the pandemic first hit almost nine months ago.

Across England, a further 314 people who tested positive for the virus have died in hospital, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths across the country’s hospital facilities up to 44,126.

The patients who lost their lives to Covid-19 between November 7 and December 11 of this year, were aged between 38 and 102 years old.

All except 11 people who died from the virus were known to suffer from underlying health conditions and their families have been informed.
