The total number of confirmed reported deaths in England is now 689.

Patients were aged between 29 and 98 years old and all but four patients (aged between 82 and 91 years old) had underlying health conditions.

They said delays in the length of time to confirm publicly a death of somebody testing positive for Covid-19 can occur for reasons such as an individual being tested post-mortem or difficulties in tracing and informing family members.

Richard Mitchell, Chief Executive, for Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said:

“We can confirm that sadly, five patients have passed away at King’s Mill Hospital between Sunday 22 March and Thursday 26 March. The patients who were all in their seventies or eighties had tested positive for COVID-19 and all had underlying health conditions.

“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time."
